Endodontics
What is Endodontics?
Endodontics is a branch of dentistry that focuses on the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of dental pulp and tissues inside the tooth. Endodontists are specially trained to perform root canal therapy and other procedures aimed at saving diseased or damaged teeth.
Our Endodontic Services:
Root Canal Therapy: Root canal therapy is a common endodontic procedure used to treat infected or inflamed dental pulp, the soft tissue inside the tooth. During root canal therapy, our skilled endodontist will remove the infected or damaged pulp, clean and disinfect the root canals, and seal the tooth to prevent further infection.
Apicoectomy: An apicoectomy, also known as root-end surgery, may be recommended when a root canal procedure is not sufficient to save a tooth. During an apicoectomy, the tip of the tooth’s root is removed, along with any infected tissue, to eliminate the source of infection and promote healing.
Endodontic Retreatment: In some cases, a previously treated tooth may become reinfected or fail to heal properly. Endodontic retreatment involves removing the existing filling material, cleaning and disinfecting the root canals, and sealing the tooth to address any persistent infection or inflammation.
Traumatic Dental Injuries: Endodontists are trained to handle traumatic dental injuries, such as fractured or dislodged teeth, which may require prompt treatment to save the tooth and prevent further damage to surrounding tissues.
